Customers expect to connect with businesses as easily and seamlessly as they do with their friends and family. They expect marinas to be on the same channels they are, and they want quick and convenient updates. Boating customers, typically regarded as an affluent and well-educated group, probably expect more. We know this at DockMaster and so today we’d like to talk to you to SpeedyDock, who is one of our many solution partners making it easier to connect with and engage your boating customers.

SpeedyDock is an online launch management system with a mobile app for boaters to schedule launches and request fuel, beer, and ship store items.

For Boaters:

Any boater who does not dock their boat in a wet slip year-round knows the familiar frustration: calling, scheduling, arriving at least an hour in advance to grab beer, ice, and sunblock, asking the yard crew if they’re next, and finally getting onboard only to realize there is a line for fuel.

It is an event in and of itself which requires planned preparation. It is neither ‘quick’ nor ‘convenient’.

You know what is convenient?

Scheduling through SpeedyDock and arriving at the marina ready to go boating. Using the integration between DockMaster and SpeedyDock makes it quick and convenient for your marina staff too.

For Marinas:

SpeedyDock allows customers to easily schedule launch requests from any phone, tablet, or web browser instead of calling into a launch office. Sales employees and technicians may schedule launches through SpeedyDock as well. Drivers and dockhands see all launch and item requests come through in an easily accessible task list which is managed by SpeedyDock to keep them on schedule. SpeedyDock keeps a history of every action taken on launch requests, retrievals, and boat movements while making information available in real-time. Drivers and dockhands are able to collaborate while customers and other employees are automatically kept up to date on the status of their requests. Real-time slip maps make it easy for drivers and other marina stakeholders to know where any particular boat is and where it has been at any given time. SpeedyDock even has an integrated points system to measure employee performance and keep them motivated.

For Happy DockMaster Users:

DockMaster’s integration with SpeedyDock keeps both applications in sync. Customers, boats, slip information, ordered items, and inventory are automatically synced from your DockMaster account so no double entry is needed.

SpeedyDock sends stock items to DockMaster POS where they are charged to customer accounts and reflected in inventory. The tag & messaging system picks up and flags your overdue customers who are behind on their bill, blocking them from scheduling their launch. Best side-feature your accounting team is going to love: It displays a message to the customer to pay their bill.

Other custom messages can be configured from business rules as well. For example, if a boat is tagged as “Do Not Launch” in DockMaster, that message is shown to customers preventing them from scheduling their launch in the SpeedyDock app.

Thanks to our awesome partners at SpeedyDock:

The integration is flexible and we can speak to their willingness to work with our marina customers who have specific requirements. The team at SpeedyDock is just as passionate about boating as we are here at DockMaster and that’s what makes this solution so great!
