Many modules to be covered in upcoming classes

DockMaster clients will have ample opportunities through the end of February to master all facets of their marine software. DockMaster will be offering six classes over the latter two weeks of February. Topics will range from unit inventory, system accounting, service billing & accounting, unit sales contracts and finally, an entire overview of the DockMaster program.

The DockMaster pro training team has many training sessions on the agenda for your staff, whether you’re onboarding a new employee or are merely looking to fine tune your skills. Let’s take a look at what’s on the agenda for the rest of February.

Basic Unit Inventory (Tues, Feb 18, 10:00 AM)

Unit Inventory Managers and Purchasing Staff will find great value in our Basic Unit Inventory class, as all the basics of major unit inventory control will be covered. Topics will include:

• Model and Serialized Inventory Maintenance
• Model Options and associations
• Using Predefined Price Formulas
• Floor planning your serialized inventory
• Templates for Rigging and Prep WO’s
• Printing Stock Cards
• Printing inventory reports

The Inventory Management module of DockMaster of course, provides all the necessary tools for efficient inventory tracking, including purchasing, integration to point of sale and integration with the service management (Work Order) features. Get your staff up to speed in quick, convenient fashion with our next Basic Unit Inventory class.

Understanding System Accounting (Wed, Feb 19, 10:00 AM)

All accounting, bookkeeping or reporting personnel will be given a general overview of DockMaster’s system accounting flow. This session is particularly useful for those with a lighter accounting background or staff who just needs to understand the accounting hierarchy and parameters file. Topics on the agenda include:

• GL #’s and the Parameters
• Department Codes
• Accounting Hierarchy throughout the system

DockMaster Overview (Thu, Feb 20, 2:00 PM)

DockMaster overview training

If you’re a new user of DockMaster or have new staff to train, then this is the class for you. Our general DockMaster Overview class is all about bringing new staff up to speed, or simply those who wish to refresh on the basics of the program. A wide range of topics will be covered including:

  • Basic Files – Customers, Boats
  • Navigation
  • Home Menu
  • Favorites
  • Messages
  • Work Flows
  • Searching
  • Printing

As always, our pro service reps are here to address your needs, so if you’d like certain topics to be covered, or are unclear about any features, just ask and they’ll be happy to fill in the gaps.

Service Warranty (Tue, Feb 25, 2020 2:00 PM)

Service warranties are a crucial detail for your business, which is why we offer all warranty aspects as a separate class. Your warranty administrators, service managers and accounting staff will be taken through:

• The Vendor/Customer file relationship
• Setting up warranty labor rates and parts pricing
• Creating and maintaining claims
• Warranty parts tracking
• Tracking claims and Reporting
• Processing warranty vendor payments and/or credit memos

Unit Sales Contract – F&I (Wed, Feb 26, 10:00 AM)

Unit Sales Contracts and F&I is a lot to tackle in a two-hour window, but those who attend will certainly be able to soak in a lot of information in a short window. Our Unit Sales Contract and F&I class will cover topics from both contracts and F&I.

Service Billing and Accounting (Thu, Feb 27, 2:00 PM)

Finally the month of February will wrap up with DockMaster’s Service Billing & Accounting class, which will cover the complete work order billing process. Attendees will also gain a better understanding of the impacted accounting process. Topics will include:

• Parts Pulls Accounting and Tracking
• Labor Accounting
• Sublet Accounting
• WIP Monthly reporting
• Accounting and Reconciling Deposits
• Tracking and Understanding Billing Accounting Entries
