Spring is right around the corner and DockMaster is fully prepared to train any teams that need to fine tune their skills in several DockMaster modules. Among the lineup of courses offered this month, DockMaster will include classes on our parts inventory, service & schedule calendar, report generator, general ledgers and a general overview of the entire program.

It’s set to be an exciting year for DockMaster as 2021 will include the launch of DMPay and DockMaster Anywhere, a 100% cloud-based marina management system. To keep your staff up to date on what our software is set to offer, let’s take a look at what classes our pro service trainers will be offering.

Intermediate Parts Inventory (Tuesday, March 16, 2:00 PM)

Inventory Parts Management | Marina Software

On March 16, users will be taken through the processes of purchasing and receiving parts through our Inventory module. Our trainers will also discuss special orders. Our inventory management module of course, provides all the necessary tools for efficient inventory tracking, including purchasing, integration to POS and integration with the service management.

Topics Include:
• Creating and maintaining Special Orders
• Purchase orders
• Recommended Purchase Order and Low Stock Reports
• Inventory receiving
• Vendor Returns

Intermediate Service & Scheduler Calendar (Wednesday, March 17, 10:00 AM)

Service writers, managers and operations managers will be taken through some of the more advanced processes in the service module. This class is intended for users who already have a good foundation of knowledge of the service module.

The topics covered will include:
• Service Parameter Overview
• Tech file
• In depth building of Op Codes
• Work Orders
• Deposits

The service management module of course, is used to manage estimates and convert them into work orders in just a few steps. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn some more advanced processes.

Report Generator (Wednesday, March 17, 2:00 PM)

As many familiar with the reporting functions of DockMaster will know, there are lots of aspects that can be tracked using DockMaster’s reporting functionalities. Our report generator class on March 17 will cover how to use the system report generator to create custom reports and save them on your own menus. Let’s quickly run through the topics of the course:

• Sorting and totaling Values

• Advanced Options
• QSelect statements
• Creating and using lists throughout the system
• Printing Options
• Exporting to Excel

General Ledger & Financial Statement (Tuesday, March 23, 10:00 AM)

DockMaster’s financial management module helps all areas of your business that generate accounting entries that feed into the general ledger. So naturally, our general ledger and financial statement course will dive further into what the module is capable of. The general ledger and financial statement class will cover GL processes and procedures, as well as how financial statements are created, modified and generated.

GL Topics include:
• Reviewing and Posting Subsidiary Ledger
• Creating and Posting standard and recurring Journal Transactions
• Trouble-shooting out of balance conditions in the Ledger
• Drill down of transactions
• Post Cash to GL Process
• Administrative Menu
• Trial Balance vs. Journal Listings vs. GL Inquiry

FS Topics Include:
• Creating, Formatting and Maintaining Financial Statements
• Using Substitution Tables
• Exporting Financial Statements to Microsoft Excel or a DOS Text File.
• Trouble-shooting out of balance conditions in Financial Statements

DockMaster Overview (Tuesday, March 23, 2:00 PM)

Finally, the month of March will wrap up with a general DockMaster overview class. The class is equally beneficial for new users and experienced users who want to refresh on the basics. Here’s a quick rundown of what the class will offer:
