DockMaster System Requirements

The system requirements are shown below for each type of installation, software, and peripherals. Should you have questions about the system requirements or replacement peripherals please contact support@dockmaster.com for assistance. The latest system requirements can also be accessed from the Home menu in DockMaster, then About DockMaster, then clicking the Release Notes for this version link. If you are on a non-current version you may need to update your network, server, software, and or peripherals prior to upgrading to the latest current version of DockMaster. Note, We/Our/Us when referenced below refers to DockMaster.

Workstation Requirements

Microsoft is ending extended support for all versions of Server 2008 and Windows 7 as of 1/14/2020. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search/1163. Because of this, DockMaster is no longer able to provide support for these operating systems.

Virtual Desktop Environment Disclaimer

Virtual desktop environments such as Terminal Services, Citrix, etc. are not supported due to peripheral device requirements. While our applications will run in such environments it is your responsibility to work with your provider to ensure that the peripheral devices* can be passed through and are functional in the required modes. Specifically all peripherals requiring full HID (Human Interface Device) must be passed through as such.

Virtual Environment

The hosted version of DockMaster may run in a virtual environment such as Citrix, Terminal Services, etc.

NOTE: DockMaster cannot provide troubleshooting support for any issues with connectivity or peripheral items when running in a virtual environment.

  • We have specific policies in place to ensure that our software performs with specific hardware devices. We cannot certify every hardware device by all manufacturers available in the general marketplace.
  • We are not an authorized repair center for equipment. Please contact the manufacturer directly and follow their policy for returning equipment for repair/replacement. Equipment shipped or returned to us may incur a processing/handling fee. The only printing and hardware devices that we support or recommend to work with our software are listed by function and Make/Model below:
  • We do not provide support for nor can we assist with issues for third party supplied credit card terminals including those purchased through Worldpay. Please contact the vendor directly for assistance.
  • Entry devices used for scanning or keying in data such as reading from a barcode label for a part number entry should be configured to run in HID mode for proper operation.
Printer Function 1

All single copy printed output not including inventory labels require the use of a laser printer PCL5.0E or PCL6 and above emulation capability. Ethernet connectivity required.

Host based and postscript printers are not supported. Parallel, USB, inkjet, bubble jet, and Multi-function machines are not supported. The printer must be connected using a Cat5 Ethernet Cable.

Printer Function 2

All multi-copy forms and documents for unit sales require a Okidata 320,520, 321, 521. Ethernet connectivity.

Printer Function 3

All barcode labels and job cards require the use of the Zebra GK420D printer with Ethernet connectivity. Model # GK420D

For Barcode Labels, use Label Paper: 2.25 x 1.25 inches, #2, 100 labels per roll.

For Job Cards, use Zebra 4x3 Direct Thermal Tab, rolls SKU: 10010056

The printer must be connected using a Cat5 Ethernet Cable.

Large or Multiple Site Installations
  • If you intend on connecting multiple locations to a single server you need to have at least T1 speeds or greater between sites. It is highly recommended that these sites be connected via VPN. The greater the network throughput the better the connection will work. We cannot support multi-site connections if the speed is less than 1.5Mbps.
  • The number of persistently connected users and data processing needs can impact the speed and performance of your server.  For large network infrastructures with multiple server or remote site requirements please contact your Account Manager to coordinate a system design consultation, and discuss the optimum solution of your application server role within your network infrastructure.   • AccuTerm 7 or newer. Contact info@dockmaster.com for information on upgrading licensing.
Important Notes
  • DockMaster may only connect to client systems using GoToAssist with unique code.
  • DockMaster is not able to accommodate unattended access of any kind or store any client credentials.
  • Our support policy does not provide any assistance from our support or implementation staff to install any proprietary Firewall, VPN, or Remote Connectivity Client Software on the DockMaster server.
